An established national law firm is seeking a remote, full-time attorney licensed in Virginia. This role focuses on providing cost-effective legal representation in debt collection cases, with responsibilities including client representation and oversight of debt resolution programs. The firm offers a supportive environment with benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in civil litigation and consumer debt defense, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful client outcomes while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
Huron Law Group is an established and rapidly growing national debt defense law firm focused on providing cost-effective legal representation to consumers. Our firm is currently seeking a remote, full-time attorney, licensed in the state of Virginia, to provide representation and limited-scope legal assistance to consumer clients involved in debt collection lawsuits.
Responsibilities will include representing and defending clients in collection cases initiated by original creditors or debt buyers and, for clients who engage the firm in a narrower capacity, providing limited-scope legal assistance, including reviewing and editing pro se answer drafts prepared by the firm’s paralegals. This position will rarely require complex litigation and/or attendance at final hearings, as clients are enrolled in a debt resolution program, and typically desire to settle through voluntary payment arrangements with the creditors. Where in-person attendance at a hearing becomes necessary, the attorney will have the option of attending or asking the firm to secure local coverage counsel.
In addition to litigation, the position also encompasses limited debt resolution program oversight, including evaluating settlement offers and completing periodic file assessments.
This position is fully remote, allowing the attorney to telecommute from a designated remote workspace. Accordingly, candidates must be comfortable with using computers and basic software.
The annual salary is $100,000, with benefits including paid time off, 10 paid holidays, payment of bar membership and continuing legal education, yearly reviews with raises of up to 5%, discretionary bonuses, as well as health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer matching, and a health care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
