Job summary

Watchfire Signs, LLC. is seeking a Vinyl Applicator to join our production team in Houston. You will prepare signs, measure and clean surfaces, and apply high-quality vinyl graphics to signs and scoreboards.

Responsibilities include operating plotters, cutting vinyl, weeding excess material, and ensuring precise placement according to artwork. Candidates must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch and stand for long shifts while upholding safety standards.

• Must demonstrate the ability to properly handle and operate graphics plotters and cutting tools.
• Must have adequate hand strength for an 8-hour shift utilizing hand tools.
• Strong math skills and the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.

• Pay or shift range: $15 USD to $18 USD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

The Vinyl Applicator requires a detail-oriented individual who possesses a keen eye for design and craftsmanship. This individual will play a vital role in the production and application of high-quality vinyl to sports related signage.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare signs for vinyl application – this includes measuring and cleaning the signs prior to graphics installation
• Utilize production software and plotter for cutting vinyl
• Weed excess vinyl from computer cut vinyl using a variety of techniques
• Install vinyl graphics on finished signs and scoreboards
• Use tape measure to ensure accuracy
• Read and interpret artwork illustrations to match customer expectations
• Wears PPE always when using tools and equipment
• Maintain plotter in proper working condition and replace cutters as necessary
• Turn in labor time tickets daily
• Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times
• Plan and organize multiple projects to meet schedules and tight deadlines
• Periodically assist other departments with their job functions when directed by supervisor

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must demonstrate the ability to properly handle and operate graphics plotters and cutting tools
• Must have adequate hand strength for an 8-hour shift utilizing hand tools
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
• Must be able to lift moderate weights
• Must be able to be on your feet & stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to work safely
• Strong math skills and the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.
• Must be able to pass random drug screens.

Education and Licensing

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year of related experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Corel graphics software
