Job summary

Bonterra Organic Estates Hopland campus is seeking a skilled Vineyard and Truck Maintenance Mechanic to maintain our vehicle fleet and vineyard equipment across ~830 acres. Responsibilities include repairs, preventive maintenance, and DOT-compliant inspections.

Occasional travel to ranch sites and strong safety focus are required. Qualifications include 5+ years in vehicle and vineyard equipment maintenance, a valid Class C license (Class A preferred), ability to read manuals and schematics, and

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of vehicle/heavy truck/vineyard equipment maintenance experience.
• Certifications to operate specific equipment/machinery/plant vehicles may be required.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV record; Class C; Class A preferred.
• Work in shop and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
• Experience reading equipment manuals, drawings and electrical schematics.
• Thorough knowledge of tractor, vehicle and equipment mechanics; diesel and propane engines.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer skills for time clock, work orders, email.

Responsibilities

• Follow department supervision directions and perform maintenance per procedures.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on vineyard and vehicle equipment.
• Travel to ranches in Hopland/Ukiah areas to provide mechanical support.
• Inspect equipment for major repairs and report findings to leadership.
• Load and transport farming equipment between ranch locations.
• Correct unsafe conditions promptly and report needs for parts.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by operators and drivers.
• Complete work orders and suggest improvements to increase production.
• Maintain clean and safe shop and service trucks.
• Perform basic repairs including welding, fabrication, hydraulics and electrical work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.
