Job summary

Nucor Corporation’s Vulcraft – Indiana has openings for one or more Detailers. Detailers prepare field use drawings and a bill of materials using Tekla and a proprietary overlay (VulTek).

They read structural and architectural drawings and coordinate with outside detailers and Vulcraft engineers on loading in the 3D model. Candidates must read and interpret specifications, maintain safety standards, and be able to work overtime when needed to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Drafting or Design Technology preferred.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare field use drawings and a bill of materials using Tekla and VulTek.
• Read and interpret structural/architectural drawings and design requirements.
• Coordinate details with external structural detailers and Vulcraft engineers.
• Apply design loading to 3D models and review for accuracy.
• Work overtime as needed to complete projects and ensure safety.

Basic Job Functions:

Vulcraft - Indiana has an opening for one or more Detailers.A Detailer is responsible for preparing Field Use Drawings for our customer and a Bill of Materials for manufacturing. These are prepared by using a 3D Modeling software (Tekla) along with a proprietary overlay program (VulTek). Detailers will need to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to Steel Joists and Steel Deck and will apply them to the 3D Model. Coordination of Details and Connections with outside Structural Detailers. Work with Vulcraft Engineers on the application of design loading in the 3D model. Ability to work overtime hours when needed to complete projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• AutoCAD or other CAD software experience.
• Tekla or other 3D modeling software experience.
• Bluebeam software experience.
