The Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC, is seeking a part-time Village Hotel Dining Room Host to welcome guests, escort them to tables, and manage reservations in a fine dining setting on the estate.

Responsibilities include maintaining seating flow, keeping the dining room clean, answering calls, and supporting dining room staff while upholding Biltmore standards of service. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service experience required, preferably front of house food and beverage experience.
• Fluency in English and basic math skills with the ability to handle cash and credit transactions as needed.
• Familiarity with reservations software and the OpenTable system is helpful.
• Think clearly and calmly under pressure; provide courteous phone communication and follow department standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests and escort to tables.
• Seat guests and present menus, ensuring accordance with department guidelines.
• Maintain optimum seating flow by section to deliver service.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintain room cleanliness.
• Answer the restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as standards dictate.
• Take, record and confirm reservations and cancellations.
• Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel.
• Anticipate guests' needs and maintain positive guest relations at all times.

## Village Hotel Dining Room Host - FlexApplylocations: Biltmore Estatetime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR103312**Job Description**The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.Hosts will courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating, ensuring Biltmore standards of service. The incumbent will maintain flow of seating by section throughout serving period. Hosts will also assist in preparing the Restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the room at all times. Host will answer the telephone, take reservations and maintain reservation book and assist in monitoring the guests’ needs and all phases of the operation. The incumbent will also provide general assistance and support for the department, leadership, and company. **Weekends and holidays are a requirement for this job. Availability to work various shifts between 8:00 am - 11:00 pm (6 am, 12 pm). Generally 2pm-10pm. Endure various physical movements throughout work areas and over duration of work shift. 3. Ability to remain ambulatory or in stationary position throughout work shift. 4. Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congenialities in accordance to department guidelines. 3. Maintain an optimum flow of seating by section to best service guests. 4. Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant and invite them to return. 5. Guide the Servers and Dining Room Assistants in table set-up needs to ensure optimum service to guests. 6. Communicate V.I.P. arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow up. 7. Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standards. 8. Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations as specified in departmental standards. 9. Accommodate all requests for information courteously. 10. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
