Job summary

Interlingva, Inc. seeks a Vietnamese Interpreter (Sacramento) to provide professional interpretation services primarily in healthcare settings. This is an independent contractor position with a flexible schedule and regular assignments in the Sacramento area.

The interpreter will deliver accurate, bidirectional Vietnamese-English interpretation while maintaining fidelity to the original communication, coordinating with medical professionals, patients, and related stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Vietnamese and English with high fidelity interpretation.
• Must be based in the Sacramento Area.
• Experience providing accurate interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings.
• Strong ability to interpret orally between Vietnamese and English in both directions.
• Proven ability to work with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination records and background checks.
• Possession of a valid California license.

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities.

The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are based in the Sacramento Area and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreters qualifications.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Vietnamese and English
• Must be based in Sacramento Area
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
• Strong ability to interpret orally between Vietnamese and English in both directions
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
• Possession of a valid California license
