Responsibilities

• Video and Replay Administration.

Position Summary

The Video Operations Manager reports to the Senior Director, Video Operations. They will have responsibility for the day-to-day function of the Command Center including but not limited to procurement, archiving, and distribution of video of Pac-12 competitions and centralized replay technology, and they will coordinate implementation and support of all on-site replay activities. This position serves as a liaison to Conference Officiating Coordinators, Conference office staff with sport-specific assignments, Institutional Replay Personnel, and Institutional Video Coordinators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Video and Replay Administration.
• Plan event coverage and produce annual comprehensive sports schedules.
• Support and manage all Command Center equipment and oversee gameday operations in the Command Center.
• Coordinate and manage implementation and support of video and replay projects across membership.
• Recruit, train, and manage contracted replay technicians.
• Produce and collaborate on maintenance programs for the Conference’s instant replay equipment and technicians.
• Research and provide technical expertise and support on a variety of complex software and hardware platforms related to video editing, video exchange, and video replay, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere, Catapult Thunder, and DVSport Replay.
• Research and implement video capture and distribution systems for team use at conference events.
• Produce and distribute preseason and in-season training videos and other video clips for officials.
• Provide video support for officiating, including capturing, editing, and delivering live events in real-time for Conference staff and officiating coordinators’ review.
• Provide video and replay technical support to institutional staff, officiating coordinators, and sports management team as determined by the Senior Director, Video Operations.
• Provide expert video editing capabilities for internal and external Pac-12 stakeholders.
• Administer Conference video archives, including acquisition and aggregation of video in assorted formats as needed and manage the collection, cataloging, and archiving of digital video internally and from Pac-12 institutional video coordinators and media partners.

Other Duties:

• Record and archive broadcasted items relevant to the Conference Office or its member institutions.
• Analyze and make recommendations for Command Center procurements.
• Attend and produce notes on conferences and conference calls.
• Research, analyze, and deliver key insights surrounding special projects assigned by the Senior Director, Video Operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrates technical mastery of video operations in the sports industry.
• 5+ years of experience at the NCAA or the professional sports organization level preferred.
• Identifies and resolves complex technical issues promptly; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem-solving situations; excels in dealing with challenging situations.
• Expert in computer and video literacy; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
• Demonstrated technical mastery of video operations.
• Proficient with post-production software and athletic-related video editing software.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Catapult Thunder, Adobe Premiere, and DVSport.
• Proven analytical skills, organizational aptitude, and diligence, with strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and other related software applications.
• An expert at time management, reacts well under pressure and follows through on commitments.
• Available for travel, working nights and weekends as required.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• BA/BS from a four-year college or university preferred, or other degree or equivalent.
