Job summary

Dolby in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a senior Imaging/Video Algorithms engineer. You design and develop cutting-edge imaging software powering entertainment devices and experiences across theatres and consumer electronics.

You will prototype and productize new imaging tech, optimize CPU/GPU performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This role offers a strong salary, bonus, benefits, and potential equity, with location flexibility within

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with multimedia focus.
Experience in coding with C and C++.
C/C++ optimization using multithreading or SIMD.
Windows or Linux development experience.
Experience in video/image processing is a plus.
GPU acceleration via CUDA/OpenCL and OpenGL/Vulkan/Direct3D is a plus.
Perforce or Git and Jira exposure.
HDR technologies knowledge (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop Dolby Imaging/Video algorithms and software.
Contribute to architectures supporting the imaging tech pipeline across ecosystems and devices.
Prototype imaging tech and productize into high-performance libraries.
Optimize performance of algorithms.
Work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Collaborate with QA to enhance test setups (hardware, software, test automation).
Follow best practices for source control, CI, testing, and release management.
Produce and maintain documentation of work.
