POSITION OVERVIEW

The Video Editor keeps the content engine running. Every week produces two sources of raw material, which are the weekend message and The Most Podcast, and this role turns both of them into finished episodes and a steady supply of short-form clips for every account we run.

This is a volume role built on rhythm. The value is in a reliable weekly turnaround, clean cuts, and enough clips landing on time that the social accounts never go quiet. The right person moves quickly through routine work and saves their craft for the pieces that need it.

This is a ministry role first. Communications at Faith Promise exists to help people meet Jesus, grow in Him, and win their world. The Video Editor carries that calling into every cut made and every clip delivered.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Video Editor owns short-form clips from the weekend message. This is the single largest driver of growth across our accounts, and it has never been anyone's dedicated job.

• Produces short-form clips from every weekend message on a fixed weekly deadline.
• Cuts to a consistent look, including captions, framing, and any recurring graphic treatment.
• Works from the clip selections and timecodes provided by the Social Media Coordinator, and brings forward additional moments worth cutting.
• Delivers finished clips to the Social Media Coordinator in the agreed format and file structure, ready to post without further work.

Podcast Production and Editing

The Most Podcast is the long-form content that everything else is clipped from. It records weekly and it has to ship weekly.

• Runs the podcast recording session in the studio, including camera, audio, and file management.
• Notes clip-worthy moments and timecodes live during the recording so nothing has to be found again later.
• Edits the full episode in both audio and video for weekly release.
• Produces short-form cutdowns from each episode for the Faith Promise, Pastor Zac, Win Network, and The Most Podcast accounts.
• Keeps the studio in a permanent ready state so recording can begin without setup time.

Supporting Video Work

• Edits additional short-form and social video as assigned through the normal project intake process.
• Assists the film team with editing overflow during high-volume seasons such as conferences, Christmas, and Easter.
• Contributes to batch-shot devotional and series content when those projects are scheduled.
• Maintains organized project files, media, and archives so any team member can pick up a project.
• Other duties as assigned.

OPERATING RHYTHMS

The following rhythms are a required and consistent part of this role. They are what make a weekly podcast and a weekly clip volume possible.

• Fixed Weekly Podcast Recording Day, held on the calendar and protected.
• Weekly Podcast and Content Meeting with Pastor Zac and the Social Media Coordinator, setting topics, guests, and expected clips.
• Weekly Clip Delivery Deadline, with weekend message clips and podcast cutdowns handed to the Social Media Coordinator on a set day.
• Weekly Team Project Triage with the full Creative Team for intake, capacity, and deadline alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• A clear sense of calling to ministry and alignment with the vision, values, and theology of Faith Promise Church.
• Demonstrated editing experience with a portfolio that includes both long-form and short-form work.
• Proficiency in a professional editing platform such as Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, along with basic audio cleanup and caption workflows.
• Ability to work fast on a fixed weekly deadline without dropping quality on the pieces that matter.
• Comfort operating camera and audio for a studio recording session.
• Availability for a consistent weekly schedule that includes the podcast recording day and the clip delivery deadline.

Preferred

• Experience in a church, ministry, or nonprofit environment.
• Experience producing short-form video for social platforms with an understanding of what performs there.
• Motion graphics ability for lower thirds, captions, and simple animated elements.
• Experience with podcast audio production and multi-camera setups.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In the first 90 days, The Most Podcast is recording and releasing on a weekly rhythm, weekend message clips are delivered on the same day every week, and the studio stays set up and ready between sessions.

At six months, clip volume is high enough that the Social Media Coordinator is choosing from a surplus rather than waiting on delivery. Turnaround is predictable enough that the team plans around it without checking in.

Long-term, this person has become the reliable engine underneath our whole external content strategy, and the message preached on the weekend keeps reaching people who were never in the room.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

This is a part-time, non-exempt hourly role scheduled at 25 hours per week. Part-time team members are eligible for vacation and PTO in accordance with Faith Promise Church policy and may participate in the retirement plan.

Pay is based on the established range for the role and relevant experience. Staff development is built into our regular rhythms, with growth in the role recognized through increased contribution, responsibility, and demonstrated development over time.
