Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a highly skilled ML Research Engineer to advance video and image processing techniques across Apple products. You will research practical ML algorithms, build with us the next generation of video technology, and contribute to state-of-the-art CV work. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

You will prototype models, optimize deployments on hardware, and publish results while aligning with product goals and performance targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS and 3+ years relevant industry experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on ML research (including Ph.D. work).
• Proven track record of success in deep learning with publications in top ML/CV venues.
• Familiarity with latest ML and CV innovations, including GenAI modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and ML tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of ML/deep learning principles, prototyping, training, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Research ML-based components for image/video processing: invent models, design datasets and pipelines, prototype architectures.
• Collaborate to optimize model efficiency and deploy on hardware architectures.
• Work with cross-functional teams to meet quality and computation requirements for shipping technology.
• Communicate progress and demonstrate the technology to leadership and colleagues.
