Job summary

Harris Health System seeks a VP Pharmacy Services to lead enterprise-wide pharmacy operations with a focus on quality and patient safety in a high-reliability organization.

The role will assess environments, prioritize challenges, and design plans for human resources, service delivery, automation, formulary optimization, and population health initiatives, while collaborating with medical and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Degrees: Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field or PharmD; Residency preferred.
• Masters degree preferred at time of hire; if not held, must be obtained within three years.
• Licenses & Certifications: TX BOP License; must obtain Texas license within the first 90 days of employment.
• Work Experience: Fifteen (15) years of Pharmacy experience.
• Management Experience: Ten (10) years of management/operations experience in director level or above.
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports.
• Proficiencies: MS Word, P.C.

Job Summary

The VP Pharmacy Services will report to the CPLO and will lead the enterprise to provide service to our patients through adoption of industry leading and transformative pharmacy best practices. The VP Pharmacy Services will be responsible for enterprise-wide pharmacy focused on excellence in quality and patient safety in a High reliable organization. VP Pharmacy Services also will draw upon their demonstrated expertise to accurately assess Pharmacy operating environments, appraise and prioritize challenges, and design operational plans to achieve efficient, high performing services encompassing human resources, service delivery optimization, automation and information technology applications, cost effective formulary & inventory optimization, population health initiatives (wellness, prevention, and disease management), safety and regulatory readiness. VP Pharmacy Services must establish strong collaborative relationships with key medical, nursing and executive leaders throughout the organization and external key stakeholders to achieve bold and innovative services that are in alignment with the system's strategic plans. The VP Pharmacy Services will be expected to continuously assess healthcare and pharmacy environments and proactively develop short and long term strategies to ensure that the pharmacy services department is well-positioned for current and future success.
