Job description

Opportunity as Vice President of Systems Engineering to lead the integration, testing, and technical governance of company’s regulated intelligent precision medicine product and technology platforms. These platforms integrate electronic hardware and sensors, embedded software and firmware, connected IoT devices, communications networks, edge computing, cloud services, mobile applications, data systems, and AI/ML-enabled capabilities.

The Vice President will inherit an established product vision, development strategy, and preliminary architecture. This role is not intended to restart the architecture or replace existing development plans. The Vice President will work within a highly cross-functional, risk-based proprietary agile development process orchestrated under the CEO office.

This individual will direct end-to-end device and platform integration and verification across internally developed and externally supplied technologies. Responsibilities include implementing proprietary progressive integration and testing environments; defining system-level verification strategies; ensuring traceability from user needs and risks through requirements and test evidence; and resolving cross-domain technical issues. The Vice President will also provide technical oversight of engineering vendors and coordinate closely with Software, Hardware, Cloud, AI/ML, Integration and Security, Product, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Program Management leadership. The Vice President will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the company’s proprietary risk-based development, quality, engineering, and program management processes.

Ideal Profile

Candidates must have a graduate degree in systems engineering or a related technical discipline and at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience developing complex, multidisciplinary products or platforms. A Ph.D. in systems engineering or biomedical engineering is preferred. Substantial greenfield experience is required, including participation in at least one program from concept development, requirements definition, or initial architecture through late-stage integration, verification, deployment, design transfer, or commercialization. Experience in medical devices, aerospace, defense, industrial systems, robotics, automotive, telecommunications, energy, or another regulated or safety-critical industry is strongly preferred, along with experience overseeing external vendors, leading multidisciplinary teams, and supporting FDA submissions or commercial product launches.
