Latigo Bio is seeking a Vice President/Senior Vice President, Human Resources to lead the company’s people strategy and executive HR function in San Francisco. You will partner with the CEO, Board, and leadership team to align talent, culture, and ops with rapid biotech growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences preferred.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership teams and boards.
  • Strong expertise across talent acquisition, org development, compensation & benefits, HR operations.
  • SHRM- or similar certification preferred.

  • Serve as trusted advisor to CEO, executive leadership, and Board on talent and culture.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Oversee compensation planning, equity, benefits, and total rewards, including executive compensation strategy.
  • Drive culture development, employee engagement, communications, and change management.
  • Ensure HR operations, compliance, governance, and reporting meet governance and regulatory requirements.

The Vice President/Senior Vice President, Human Resources (HR) serves as the company’s senior people leader and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive people strategy that supports Latigo's business objectives, culture, organizational effectiveness, and growth plans. This role will serve as a member of the executive leadership team
partnering closely with executives, managers, and the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate is a strategic yet hands-on HR leader with experience
supporting high-growth biotechnology or life sciences organizations through significant organizational growth, commercial evolution, and major corporate milestones. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, HR operations, and culture development.

Key Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership & People Strategy
  • Develop and execute an integrated people and organizational strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board on talent, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, workforce planning, and culture.
  • Translate business priorities into organizational structures, workforce capabilities, and talent strategies that support long-term growth.
  • Lead change management, leadership effectiveness,

and scalable HR infrastructure initiatives while maintaining an agile, mission-driven culture.

Talent Acquisition & Organizational Development
  • Lead workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain exceptional scientific, clinical, technical, commercial, and corporate talent.
  • Partner with leaders to define organizational needs, hiring priorities, and succession plans.
  • Oversee recruiting processes, executive search activities, leadership development, coaching, performance management, and employee development programs.
  • Strengthen management capabilities and organizational effectiveness across the company.
Culture, Employee Engagement & Communications
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen and evolve Latigo’s culture and values.
  • Develop programs that foster employee engagement, collaboration, accountability, recognition, and high performance.
  • Lead employee communications and change management strategies and employee feedback mechanisms
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
  • Lead the design and administration of competitive compensation, equity, benefits, and recognition programs.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, CFO/CBO, Board, and Compensation Committee on executive compensation strategy.
  • Oversee compensation planning, incentive programs, equity administration, and benefits strategy

  • Oversee employee relations, HR operations, compliance, HR systems, policies, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters and manage external HR consultants and service providers
  • Support Board and Comp Committee activities and ensure HR processes align with governance, risk management, and public company requirements.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 15 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, including senior HR leadership roles.
  • Experience leading HR within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other innovation-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated success supporting organizations through rapid growth, organizational change, and business transformation.
  • Strong expertise across talent acquisition, org development, compensation & benefits, employee relations, performance management, HR operations, and employment practices.
  • Experience partnering closely with executive leadership teams and Boards.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hand-on execution.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MA/MS, or related field).
  • Prior experience in a publicly traded biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience supporting Comp Committees and Board governance activities.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification.
