Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Procurement Officer, the Vice President, Procurement - Data Center Infrastructure will lead the global procurement strategy, operating model and execution for major capital equipment, power solutions and infrastructure programs. This executive will build long-term supply capacity, strengthen supplier performance and business continuity, and improve cost, schedule and delivery outcomes across a complex global construction portfolio.

The ideal candidate is a senior procurement and supply chain leader with significant experience supporting major construction and capital programs. Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or digital infrastructure is highly valued, but is not required. Success will depend on the ability to translate construction demand into scalable category strategies, negotiate complex commercial agreements, influence senior stakeholders, and lead a diverse global team through growth and change.

Responsibilities
Global Procurement Strategy and Leadership
  • Set and optimize end-to-end global procurement strategies, structures and processes for global major capital equipment, power availability and construction-related infrastructure categories; ensuring seamless delivery across all projects

  • Translate the long-range construction pipeline into integrated category, sourcing, supplier capacity and business continuity plans, including multi-year demand commitments where appropriate

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Construction, Design, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Sustainability and regional business leaders, aligning procurement priorities to business plans and project requirements

  • Provide clear, high-quality reporting to executive leadership, customers and other stakeholders on program performance, supply risk, cost, schedule, and strategic priorities

Capital Programs, Supplier Capacity and Commercial Excellence
  • Lead the global major capital equipment program and manage significant spend across critical equipment, systems and services required for complex construction projects

  • Develop and maintain a resilient, competitive supplier ecosystem capable of supporting concurrent projects across multiple geographies and cultures

  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and contractual relationships, partnering with Legal and business stakeholders to resolve program needs, manage risk and secure favorable outcomes

  • Use cost analysis, project economics, financial modeling and market intelligence to improve sourcing decisions, mitigate inflation and availability pressures, and introduce more efficient supplier solutions

  • Oversee warehousing and logistics requirements across the supply chain, ensuring integration with project schedules and broader business objectives

Program Execution and Governance
  • Establish program objectives, governance, and KPIs that drive predictable, high-quality delivery, supplier performance, and continuous improvement

  • Partner with project teams from inception through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational go-live to ensure procurement strategies and supplier commitments support the approved business case

  • Review due diligence and core project documentation, including the basis of design, budget, schedule, phasing, development strategy and project procurement strategy

  • Support consistent application of global procurement and technical standards while enabling regional execution and customer requirements

  • Identify delivery, capacity, commercial and supplier risks early, and lead cross-functional mitigation plans to protect project outcomes

Power and Infrastructure Solutions
  • Steer procurement strategy for power-related infrastructure and solutions, working closely with internal technical leaders and external utilities, developers and suppliers

  • Support commercial and supplier strategies associated with grid planning, interconnections, substations, onsite generation, renewable energy and emerging power technologies

  • Build trusted relationships with senior external stakeholders and negotiate agreements that enable infrastructure availability in line with project and customer timelines

Innovation, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, supplier capabilities and industry best practices that can improve design efficiency, cost, speed, resilience and constructability

  • Use data and management information to improve decision-making, strengthen forecasting and monitor market, cost and availability trends

  • Advance responsible sourcing and support Equinix corporate social responsibility and sustainability commitments across the global project portfolio

  • Create a culture of disciplined execution, transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement

People Leadership
  • Lead, structure, motivate and develop a best-in-class, diverse global organization grounded in a shared vision and clear change story

  • Build leadership capability and succession depth through talent identification, coaching, mentoring and development across regions

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, construction procurement, capital programs or a related field, including leadership of complex global portfolios

  • Significant experience supporting major construction, engineering, infrastructure or capital-intensive programs, with a strong understanding of how procurement decisions affect design, schedule, cost, commissioning and operational readiness

  • Demonstrated success developing category strategies, securing supplier capacity, managing major capital equipment spend and negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements

  • Proven ability to lead concurrent programs across geographies and cultures in a global, matrixed organization

  • Strong capability in cost analysis, project economics, financial modeling, market intelligence, and data-driven decision-making

  • Experience building and managing strategic supplier relationships and influencing senior executives across the supply chain

  • 10+ years of people leadership experience, with a track record of building, integrating and developing high-performing global teams

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, engineering, energy managementd or related field; master's degree preferred

  • Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or digital infrastructure is preferred, but not required

  • Exposure to power procurement, electric utilities, grid interconnections, substations, onsite generation or energy-related contracting is advantageous

  • Knowledge of global construction standards, commissioning, and operational go-live processes in technically complex environments is preferred

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs.
