Job Description

The Vice President of Operations (VPO) is an instrumental part of our practice management team. This role is responsible for overseeing regional performance, strengthening client relationships, and driving operational excellence across multiple service lines. Our VPOs work closely with our clinicians to ensure that they have the resources and workflow to meet the expectations of our hospital partners. VPOs facilitate recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, scheduling, and payroll functions for our clinician teams. Experience in clinician services and practice management, including business logistics, practice finance, and customer service are vital skills. The Vice President of Operations works closely with our hospital partners to align the partnership around financial, quality and throughput goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • ApolloMD operations contact to assigned partner hospital administration.
  • Regular communication with appropriate hospital decision makers regarding operational quality metrics, expansion of services, process improvement and performance.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare industry quality metrics, as well as trends within healthcare.
  • Participates and identifies performance improvement activities to improve quality of care, promote excellent patient outcomes and provide a cost-effective environment for patient care.
  • Ability to identify operational efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Identification of operational issues, processes and systems for improved performance.
  • Oversees a team of Director of Operations, Recruiters, and Credentialers
  • Leads by example and motivates all team members to perform at their highest level while mindful of engagement and job satisfaction.
  • Ensure completed schedules with facility credentialed providers.
  • Coordination of recruiting efforts to maintain continuity of providers optimized to 100 percent staffing levels.
  • Regular communication with appropriate hospital decision makers regarding operational metrics and performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree (MBA, MSHA, MHA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience, preferably within multi-site or multi-market environments.
  • Proven experience managing hospital or physician practice operations.
  • Demonstrated ability in client management, financial oversight, and large-scale operational execution.
  • Experience leading and developing teams across multiple levels.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Contract Load & Travel Expectations
  • Oversight of 2+ markets, inclusive of multiple hospital programs.
  • Approximately 50% travel within the North Carolina market and region.
  • Manages regional Operators: Specialists, Managers, and Directors of Operations.
