A growing food manufacturing organization is seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing Operations to lead multi-site manufacturing operations and drive stronger performance, reliability, standardization, and operational discipline across its production network.
This is a senior operations leadership role for someone who can connect enterprise strategy with plant-level execution. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food manufacturing, Lean/continuous improvement, equipment reliability, plant leadership development, and data-driven performance management.
This leader will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional partners across maintenance, continuous improvement, supply chain, food safety/quality, finance, and HR to build a safer, more reliable, scalable, and profitable manufacturing platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing operations across multiple facilities, creating consistency, accountability, and strong execution across sites
- Develop and coach plant and operations leadership teams
- Drive standardization of operating practices, daily management systems, leader standard work, visual management, and performance reviews
- Improve safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, labor efficiency, yield, waste, downtime, and
- Partner closely with maintenance leadership to improve equipment reliability, uptime, asset utilization, and maintenance planning
- Support the shift from reactive maintenance to a more planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance cu
- Partner with continuous improvement leadership to prioritize improvement opportunities, support kaizen activity, and sustain operational gains
- Strengthen the use of manufacturing data, ERP/CMMS systems, production dashboards, and plant-floor analytics for decision-making
- Partner with food safety and quality leadership to support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and strong FSQA performance
- Work with finance and executive leadership to identify cost reduction, productivity, margin improvement, and EBITDA-impacting opportunities
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, leadership development, and continuous improvement
Ideal Background
- 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
- 5+ years leading multi-site manufacturing operationsFood manufacturing experience required
- Strong Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement background
- Demonstrated success improving plant performance, reliability, productivity, and cost
- Experience building or improving operating systems, daily management routines, and leadership accountability
- Strong ability to use data, systems, and operational metrics to drive decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
Preferred Experience
- Food manufacturing experience
- TPM, RCM, CMMS, reliability, or maintenance transformation experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean certification, or similar CI background
- Private equity, M&A, or high-growth manufacturing environment experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
