Job description

The client is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead all field operations across the organization, overseeing safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of commercial facilities maintenance, enhancement, and construction services. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and leads a team that includes branch managers, fleet management, purchasing, and a construction manager. The Vice President of Operations partners closely with sales, finance, human resources, and executive leadership to drive operational excellence, support organic growth, improve profitability, and integrate acquired businesses.

Key responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight for all branch operations; ensuring consistent execution of company standards, financial objectives, and customer expectations; and developing, coaching, and holding operational leaders accountable for performance across safety, revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, customer retention, and employee engagement. The role is expected to align operations with sales priorities, support onboarding of new clients, and ensure profitable execution of awarded work. It will also manage operational planning and performance through participation in annual budget development, ongoing financial forecasting, operational reviews using key metrics, and implementation of corrective actions to mitigate risk and improve branch performance.

The position will drive labor productivity and continuous improvement initiatives, including workforce planning, scheduling, and equipment utilization, while ensuring appropriate staffing levels across branches. It is also responsible for overseeing companywide safety initiatives and regulatory compliance, providing executive oversight of fleet and asset management, and partnering with finance to strengthen forecasting accuracy, operational reporting, and cost controls. The client will support operational technology platform implementation and continuous improvement, and the Vice President of Operations will lead operational due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities to implement operating standards, systems, and processes, while collaborating with executive leadership on strategic initiatives for long-term growth and scalability.
