Description du poste

Job Details: Job Location: Plant 8 - Goshen, IN 46526, Position Type: Salary, Genesis Products is looking for a VP of Operations to take a strong manufacturing foundation and turn it into a competitive weapon. This is a new, company-wide role created for one reason: our customers move fast, our business is getting more complex, and we want manufacturing systems smart enough to make complexity an advantage.

You won't inherit a mess to clean up. You'll inherit working systems, monthly audits, committed plant teams, and leaders who want to get better. Your job is to protect what works, raise the bar, and build what comes next, in the plants, in the warehouse, on the road, and in the software that ties it together.

About Genesis Products

Genesis is a multi-plant manufacturer rooted in Elkhart, Indiana. Our capabilities include lamination, mouldings, panel processing, and composite forming operations, serving customers whose needs change quickly and often. Genesis serves the RV, Kitchen & Bath, Fleet & Heavy Vehicle, and Commercial Markets with 14 plants and 900 employees. We have a passion for growth and are always improving.

We're customer- and product-driven at our core. Our business group leaders live close to customers and products, and they make the daily calls that keep us responsive. Behind them, we've built real operating discipline: a proprietary MRP platform developed and refined in-house over two decades, monthly audits across safety, 5S, manufacturing excellence, people, and warehouse, and a growing logistics operation with our own managed fleet.

We're growing, including through acquisition, and we intend to keep doing both. We're stable and able to make decisions quickly, without layers of bureaucracy between a good idea and the plant floor.

The role

The VP of Operations owns how Genesis manufactures: the systems, standards, and accountability that let every plant perform and adapt. Reporting to the President & CEO, you'll be the company's senior manufacturing leader and its go-to problem solver.

This is a role of influence and ownership, not a traditional chain of command. Plants report through operations managers to our business group VPs, who stay close to customers and make day-to-day calls. You'll design the systems those teams run on, coach and challenge them to use them well, and keep the whole company honest about maintaining them. When a customer need changes overnight, our group VPs decide what to do; your systems make sure we can do it well, safely, and profitably. The role will have direct reports and responsibility for safety, logistics, warehouse excellence, and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to take on manufacturing HR as the role grows.

If you want to shape how an entire company runs, with direct access to leadership and the freedom to act, read on.

What you'll lead
  • Safety. Own safety policy and accountability across every site. Make Genesis a place where people go home safe, and where safety performance is measured, visible, and owned.
  • Manufacturing excellence. Own our quality and operational excellence systems, and the monthly audit process behind them. Keep what works, raise the bar as plants mature, and make sure findings turn into lasting improvement, not just scores.
  • Systems for agility. Design physical and digital systems that let us absorb fast-changing customer demand: changeovers, flexible staffing, scheduling, and smarter use of our in-house MRP platform. Turn floor problems into clear requirements and see them through to adoption.
  • Turnarounds. Partner with business group teams to diagnose and fix underperforming plants, bringing structure, urgency, and hands-on problem solving.
  • Launches and overhauls. Lead the start-up of major new operations and the redesign of existing ones, from layout and flow to people and process.
  • Acquisition integration. Alongside our executive leadership and CFO, integrate and onboard acquired operations, bringing them onto Genesis systems and standards while keeping customers served. Build the playbook we'll use again and again.
  • Warehouse and material excellence. Raise the standard for organization, barcoding, tracking, and inventory accuracy, so material is always where it should be.
  • Logistics. Lead our logistics function and managed fleet, and expand it beyond Elkhart into a true competitive advantage.
What success looks like in your first two years
  • Safety and audit results are improving across every plant, and leadership reviews system health as seriously as revenue and margin.
  • Our existing systems are stronger than when you arrived, and no plant has slipped backward.
  • Underperforming operations have been turned around with results that last.
  • Plants respond to customer changes faster, with less disruption and lower cost.
  • Warehouse accuracy and material flow are visibly better, supported by tools people actually use.
  • Plant and operations leaders see you as the person who makes them better, and come to you first when something is hard.
Qualifications: Who you are

You've run plants, and you've made multiple plants better. You're at home on the floor and in the boardroom, and people on both trust you.

What you bring
  • Significant manufacturing leadership experience, including running a plant and leading operational excellence or operations across multiple sites.
  • A track record of turnarounds, launches, or integrations, with results you can measure and that lasted after you moved on.
  • Deep experience in high-mix, customer-driven manufacturing, where demand and specs change often. You see that variability as a design problem to solve, not noise to eliminate.
  • Hands-on fluency with continuous improvement, quality systems, and safety leadership, applied practically rather than by the book.
  • Real digital fluency: you've connected physical process changes to software changes, written clear requirements, and gotten floor teams to adopt new tools. Experience with custom or homegrown systems is a plus.
  • Experience in warehouse, material flow, or logistics is a strong plus.
How you work
  • You build on what's there. You learn why existing systems work before changing them, and you improve them instead of replacing them to leave your mark.
  • You lead through influence. You can get plant teams who don't report to you to adopt new standards, because they see you making them better.
  • You know when to yield and when to push. The customer comes first, and you're comfortable when daily decisions go to the business. But you'll speak up, to anyone, when a shortcut is turning into a habit.
  • You'd rather fix it than talk about it. You roll up your sleeves, show up in the plants, and stay until it works.
  • You develop people. You leave plant leaders more capable than you found them.
Why this opportunity
  • Real impact, fast. Your work will show up across every plant, not buried in one corner of a large organization.
  • A foundation worth building on. Strong systems, committed teams, and leadership that values operational discipline.
  • Software that moves at your speed. Our in-house MRP platform can evolve with your ideas, instead of you working around someone else's limitations.
  • Room to grow. Acquisitions, new operations, and a growing logistics network mean the role grows as the company does.
  • A seat at the table. Work directly with company leadership on where Genesis goes next.
