Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries seeks a seasoned Vice President of Finance to lead enterprise financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls for a multi-entity nonprofit. You will direct close processes, ensure GAAP compliance, and provide executive decision support.

This role partners with program leadership to improve performance, build staffing, and drive sustainable growth while maintaining ethical, confidential, and high-quality financial operations across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • CPA or similar certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible accounting/finance experience.
  • At least 5 years leading financial reporting, analysis, controls, or comparable teams.
  • Experience in complex nonprofit environments preferred (healthcare, human services, government contracting, or multi-entity).

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise financial reporting, analysis, treasury and asset oversight, internal controls, and related finance governance.
  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes, including consolidated financials, management reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and board materials.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance, grant requirements, debt covenants, and laws/regulations.
  • Establish and maintain internal control framework and segregation of duties.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, liquidity analysis, and decision support for executives.
  • Oversee treasury and asset management, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, investments, and debt compliance.
  • Translate complex data into concise insights and presentation materials for executives, committees, the board, funders, and auditors.
  • Develop management reporting standards, KPIs, data definitions, and analytics for programs and regions.
  • Support external audits, regulatory filings, accreditation activities, and responses to findings.
  • Build, develop, and plan staffing resources; coach leaders; ensure continuity during growth or change.
  • Partner with program leadership to resolve cross-functional financial issues and improve performance.
  • Promote accountability, quality, service, ethics, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in trainings, summits, meetings, and team-building events as required.
  • Perform duties in compliance with regulations, policy, and standards; occasional travel may be required.

The Vice President of Finance provides enterprise leadership for financial reporting, treasury and asset oversight, management reporting, business analytics, financial systems, grants and contributions accounting, and the organization’s financial control environment. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures timely, accurate, decision support and scalable controls that support organizational strategy, compliance, stewardship, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise financial reporting, analysis, treasury and asset oversight, internal controls, and related finance governance in alignment with the organization’s priorities.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes, including consolidated financial statements, management reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and board level materials.
  • Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are accurate, timely, complete, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, grant requirements, debt covenants, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a strong internal control framework, including documented policies, reconciliations, approval authorities, segregation of duties, account reviews, and remediation of identified deficiencies.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis activities, including budgets, forecasts, scenario modeling, trend analysis, liquidity analysis, operating margin monitoring, and decision support for executive leadership.
  • Oversee treasury and asset management activities, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, investments, debt compliance, liquidity, and safeguarding of organizational resources.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into concise insights, recommendations, and presentation materials for executives, committees, the board, funders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting standards, key performance indicators, data definitions, and analytical tools that promote consistent, actionable information across programs and regions.
  • Serve as a primary finance liaison for external auditors and support annual audits, regulatory filings, accreditation activities, and responses to monitoring or examination findings.
  • Build, develop, and plan staffing resources.
  • Set clear expectations, coach and develop leaders and staff, strengthen succession readiness, and maintain service continuity during periods of growth or change.
  • Partner with program leadership to resolve cross-functional financial issues and improve organizational performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, responsive service, ethical conduct, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in and supports in-person collaboration opportunities, including departmental and organization wide trainings, summits, seminars, meetings, and other professional development or team-building events, as required.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications
