Professional Engineering Consultants, PA seeks a Vice President of Engineering - Geotechnical in Topeka, KS. This senior role leads client service, staff management, strategy, and project execution for the Geotechnical Division.

The VP drives technical reputation, collaborates across departments, and ensures division costs stay within budgets. A minimum of 15 years in design/construction and a engineering degree are required; licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent in non-engineering divisions).
• Minimum of 15 years of actual experience in design and construction industries.
• Professional license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff within the Division including Technical Leads, Practice Leads, Team Leads, and Key Service Line Leaders.
• Deliver PEC’s purpose and vision to clients and staff.
• Uphold the Division’s technical reputation and promote services externally.
• Provide workload management and oversee Division efficiency in deliverables.
• Manage project risks related to technical aspects of the Division.
• Develop, implement, and enforce appropriate business practices and quality procedures for the Division.

Vice President of Engineering - Geotechnical

Salary 40 Hours Topeka, KS, US

Geotechnical engineering focuses on the ground beneath every project. Geotechnical professionals investigate soil, rock, groundwater, and site conditions to determine whether land can safely support buildings, bridges, roadways, retaining walls, utilities, and other infrastructure.

Position Summary: The Vice President is a primary leader within the firm. This position leads client service, technical staff management, strategic planning, engineering processes and procedures, and project execution for theDivision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor and lead staff within theDivision.
• Deliver PEC’s purpose and vision to our clients and staff.
• Uphold the technical reputation of the Division.
• Promote services of the Division within PEC and outside to current and potential clients.
• Provide workload management of team members in theDivision.
• Oversee Division efficiency for production of workproduct.
• Manage project risks related to technical portions ofDivision.
• Develop, implement, and enforce appropriate Business Practices and Quality Procedures specifically related to the Division.
• Manage Division costs to withinbudgets.
• Set Division standards and deliver projects within those setstandards.
• Collaborate between departments to achieve companyvision.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Experience in managing staff memberspreferred
• Accustom to collaborating with diverse engineeringdisciplines.
• Understand current trends within the construction industry and specific TechnicalDiscipline.
• Possess excellent oral and written communicationskills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in non-engineering Divisions (Geologist, Surveyor, or Construction/ProjectManager)
• A minimum of 15 years of actual experience in the design and constructionindustry.

License and Certification:

• Professional license preferred/
