Jobgether is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide distributed teams across regions, fostering a high-performance culture. You will champion AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and AI-supported reviews, while shaping cloud-native architectures on AWS.

You will mentor engineering managers, drive cross-functional collaboration with product and analytics, and establish robust processes for delivery, quality, and technical debt management in a rapidly growing SaaS environment.

Accountabilities

• Lead global engineering teams: Manage, mentor, and develop distributed software engineering teams across multiple regions, including teams based in India, while fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture and effective collaboration across time zones.
• Develop engineering talent: Recruit and retain strong technical professionals, coach engineering managers and technical leads, and establish clear career development and progression pathways.
• Drive AI-enabled development: Champion the adoption of AI-assisted coding, automated test generation, AI-supported code reviews, and related development workflows to improve engineering velocity, code quality, and developer productivity.
• Own technical strategy and architecture: Define the architectural vision for assigned product areas, ensuring applications are scalable, secure, maintainable, and cost-efficient within AWS cloud-native environments.
• Promote engineering excellence: Establish and reinforce best practices for software design, code reuse, automated testing, performance optimization, and technical debt management.
• Strengthen cloud and delivery infrastructure: Partner with platform and infrastructure leaders to align software architecture with cloud services, deployment processes, and company-wide CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish effective engineering operations: Define and maintain the team's operating model, including sprint planning, estimation, release schedules, code reviews, branching strategies, deployment practices, and quality standards.
• Measure and improve performance: Develop and report on engineering metrics covering delivery speed, deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rates, recovery times, defect rates, test coverage, predictability, and team health.
• Lead continuous improvement: Facilitate retrospectives, post-incident reviews, and regular process assessments, translating findings into prioritized improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Evaluate AI adoption: Measure how AI development tools affect delivery speed, code quality, and developer experience, using results to refine implementation strategies and team guidance.
• Balance competing priorities: Work with Product leadership to allocate capacity across feature development, technical debt reduction, and operational responsibilities while making informed roadmap trade-offs.
• Align engineering with business goals: Collaborate with Product Management, Data Analytics, and Customer Success to coordinate technical roadmaps, feature releases, and user experience priorities.
• Build consistency across engineering leadership: Partner with fellow engineering executives to establish shared standards, technical frameworks, and cross-team processes.
• Manage external technology partnerships: Oversee relationships with software vendors, specialized technology providers, and outsourced engineering resources to support scalable product development.
• Optimize Agile delivery: Continuously refine development processes to reduce friction, improve predictability, and accelerate the delivery of reliable, high-quality software.

Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience: 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least five years in senior engineering leadership roles managing engineering managers and cross-functional teams.
• Ruby on Rails expertise: Seven or more years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails patterns, application performance tuning, or scaling legacy and modern Rails applications is a strong plus.
• Asynchronous architecture experience: Seven or more years of hands-on experience with asynchronous processing and architectures.
• Remote team leadership: At least five years of experience working in and managing fully remote engineering teams.
• High-growth technology background: Proven experience in SaaS or web-based startups, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments that demand adaptability, ownership, and rapid execution.
• Global team management: Demonstrated experience leading international engineering teams, with strong cross-cultural communication and distributed-team management skills.
• Executive collaboration: A strong record of working with peer engineering leaders and senior stakeholders to deliver technical and business objectives under executive direction.
• AWS and cloud architecture: Deep expertise in building, deploying, and scaling applications hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• AI-driven engineering practices: Practical experience implementing AI-powered development tools and encouraging engineering teams to adopt solutions such as Claude Code to improve workflows and output.
• Full-stack technical foundation: Strong knowledge of modern web architectures, databases, API design, microservices, and core web protocols, including REST, JSON, OAuth, and SSL.
• Engineering process and metrics: Ability to establish scalable development practices, define meaningful performance indicators, and use data to guide continuous improvement.
• Leadership and communication: Excellent mentoring, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to align technical teams and business partners around shared priorities.
• Adaptability and prioritization: Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously, make sound decisions with minimal guidance, and balance short-term delivery with long-term technical health.
