The Vice President (VP) of Development is a senior leadership role responsible for building the strategy, relationships, systems, and team necessary to significantly grow philanthropic support for BGCT. Working closely with the President & CEO, the VP will bring an already successful development operation to new levels of professionalism and results by developing and implementing an explicit, multi-year strategic resource development plan encompassing annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation relationships, donor stewardship, and fundraising events. The VP will personally manage a portfolio of key donors and prospects while building a disciplined, metrics-driven development operation that supports BGCT's long-term growth. This role will assume increasing ownership of donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and long-range development strategy, freeing the President & CEO to focus on large-scale management and strategic initiatives. This position directly supervises development-related staff, including individual and annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, grants, donor stewardship, development operations, and special events, while establishing clear accountability, measurable performance expectations, and an integrated team approach to achieving BGCT's annual and long- term resource development goals.

Growth and quality of the major-gift and qualified-prospect pipeline
New major donors, donor retention, and donor upgrades
Major-gift portfolio activity, movement, solicitations, and conversions
Board participation and effectiveness in fundraising
Development forecast accuracy and CRM/pipeline discipline
Fundraising return on investment
The position is located at the BGCT Administrative Office in Toledo, OH. In-person work is expected most days of the week as well as for fundraising meetings and events. Work from home is possible up to 1-2 days per week.
This position requires regular interaction with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and Board members. Evening and weekend work is occasionally required to support fundraising events, meetings, and community activities.
