  • Assign territories, programs and projects to Program Directors and Project Managers while maintaining direct executive oversight of major programs and key strategic projects
  • Lead, hire, evaluate and mentor senior construction leaders including Program Directors, Estimating Managers and the Director of Project Controls, building a high-performing team capable of executing complex federal construction projects
  • Drive operational excellence across all construction programs, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with federal contract requirements and military installation protocols
  • Prepare and update the firm's construction operations budget on no less than an annual basis and provide executive financial oversight of the company's federal construction portfolio
  • On no less than a quarterly basis, review the firm's operational and financial performance with senior managers (Chairman, President, CFO, etc.) and on a monthly basis with the President and CFO to ensure strong program performance and sustainable growth
  • Serve as a senior leader in shaping company strategy, implementing operational improvements and strategic initiatives to maintain the growth, profitability and long-term health of the firm
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with key federal clients including Air Force, Army, and NAVFAC leadership, supporting business development and long-term client partnerships
  • Ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of the firm's Health and Safety Program across all construction activities, particularly on active military installations
  • Ensure the implementation of the firm's Quality Management Program, including compliance with federal contracting requirements, military construction standards and client specifications
  • Approve major capital equipment purchases and strategic resource allocations required to support domestic and international construction operations
  • Identify risks to project performance and direct corrective action when necessary; ensure lessons learned are documented and incorporated into future project execution
  • Coordinate high-level client meetings and participate in strategic program reviews with federal stakeholders
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements

  • Demonstrated success overseeing complex construction programs totaling approximately $1B annually
  • Strong knowledge of Department of War (DoW) construction environments, including Air Force, Army, and NAVFAC contracting and project execution requirements
  • Capable of effectively challenging the status quo to improve operational performance, delivery efficiency, and business outcomes
  • Demonstrated success coaching and developing senior construction professionals to achieve strategic and operational objectives
  • Ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team in a lean, fast-moving organization with approximately 300 employees
  • Skilled in interfacing with executives, project teams, and senior federal stakeholders
