Job summary

We are partnering with a leading global alternative asset manager to identify a Vice President for the Multi-Asset Solutions team in Chicago. The role centers on designing customized private markets portfolios and leading asset allocation across real estate, infrastructure, renewables, PE, and credit.

The VP will balance hands-on portfolio construction with significant client exposure, supporting client meetings, and delivering analytics for internal committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA or CAIA is a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant investment experience in private markets with asset allocation/portfolio construction focus.
• Track record evaluating private market investments and contributing to decisions.
• Strong grasp of trade-offs across private market strategies, vehicles, and structures.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Bloomberg or FactSet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for institutional audiences.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Design customized multi-asset private markets portfolios and investment proposals based on targets, risk, liquidity, and constraints.
• Lead strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction across real estate, infra, renewables, PE, and credit.
• Assess opportunities, including return drivers, cash flows, liquidity, and diversification.
• Help select and size investments across fund commitments, direct investments, and co-investments.
• Track allocations, cash flows, performance, and market developments for portfolio reviews.
• Produce portfolio analytics and materials for internal management and client discussions.
• Work with senior teams to win new clients and deepen relationships.
• Present investment capabilities clearly in client/prospect meetings.

We're working with a leading global alternative asset manager on a search for a Vice President to join its Multi-Asset Solutions team in Chicago. The firm manages a large, diversified private markets platform across real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, private equity, and credit.

The Solutions team builds customized investment strategies for institutional and private wealth clients. It designs portfolios around each client’s goals, such as income, inflation protection, and long-term capital growth. The team is central to the firm’s product development, portfolio construction, and capital raising. It structures separately managed accounts, commingled funds, and strategic partnerships, and uses the full breadth of the platform to deliver solutions that stand out and can scale globally.

The VP reports to the co-heads of Multi-Asset Solutions. The role combines hands-on portfolio construction with significant client exposure, which makes it a strong fit for someone who wants to sit where investing meets capital formation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design customized multi-asset private markets portfolios and investment proposals based on each client’s return targets, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and constraints
• Lead strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction work across real estate, infrastructure, renewables, private equity, and credit
• Assess private market opportunities, including return drivers, cash flow profiles, liquidity, and diversification benefits
• Help select and size investments across fund commitments, direct investments, and co-investments
• Track allocations, cash flows, performance, and market developments to support ongoing portfolio reviews
• Produce portfolio analytics and materials for internal portfolio management, investment committee, and client discussions

Client Engagement & Business Development

• Work with senior team members and the firm’s client-facing teams to win new clients and deepen existing relationships
• Take an active role in client and prospect meetings, presenting the firm’s investment capabilities and multi-asset views clearly and with conviction
• Educate clients on private markets portfolio design, including asset allocation, pacing and cash flow dynamics, liquidity management, and diversification
• Deliver regular portfolio updates covering performance, positioning, deployment, and outlook
• Keep up with macro and private-market trends and explain what they mean for clients
• Serve as the go-to investment resource for client service, marketing, and distribution teams throughout the client relationship

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. An MBA, CFA, or CAIA is a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant investment experience, including required private markets experience focused on asset allocation, portfolio solutions, or multi-asset portfolio construction
• Track record of evaluating private market investments and contributing to investment decisions
• Strong grasp of the trade-offs between different private market strategies, vehicles, and structures
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, plus working knowledge of Bloomberg or FactSet
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the polish and confidence to present to sophisticated institutional audiences
