Cumulus Media in Reno, NV is seeking an accomplished VP/Market Manager to lead a multi-station market with responsibility for revenue growth, market performance, and building a high-performing sales organization.

You will recruit and develop sales talent, foster relationships with key advertisers, and collaborate across programming, digital, and finance. A hands-on leader with a strong business acumen is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of broadcast radio, media, or advertising sales & operational management.
• Bachelor's degree in business management, radio, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; regular travel to client meetings and events.
• Experience preparing annual budgets, monthly P&L statements, and sales forecasting reports.
• Proven track record of delivering integrated advertising solutions across on-air, on-site, and digital platforms.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of lead generation, CRM, and account development.
• Strong goal orientation and ability to coach and lead the sales team.

Position Overview

Cumulus Media| (Reno, NV) is searching for an accomplished and highly motivated leader to serve as our Vice President/Market Manager. This individual will provide strategic and operational leadership for a multi-station broadcast radio market, with responsibility for driving revenue growth, strengthening market performance, and developing a high-performing sales organization. The VP/Market Manager will establish the market's business priorities, lead the execution of local revenue strategies, and work closely with programming, promotions, digital, finance, and operations to ensure the stations deliver compelling audience experiences and effective marketing solutions for advertisers. As the Market's senior leader, you will be actively involved in recruiting, coaching, and developing sales talent; building strong relationships with key clients and community partners; and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and consistent execution. A successful candidate will combine strong business and financial acumen with a hands‑on leadership style, a deep understanding of integrated media sales, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable results. Our market leaders are supported by outstanding products and assets, comprehensive training and business‑development resources, and a collaborative team that recognizes and rewards performance. This position reports directly to the Operational President.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a multi-station broadcast radio market, setting clear business priorities and driving measurable revenue and performance results.
• Lead local and regional sales efforts, expanding the market’s broadcast and digital sales portfolio and identifying opportunities within new and emerging business categories.
• Recruit, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing sales organization that consistently achieves and exceeds its goals.
• Lead with a coaching mindset by setting clear expectations, raising performance standards, providing actionable feedback, and empowering team members to take ownership of their results.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of revenue performance, sales activity, pipeline development, client retention, forecasting, and progress against market goals.
• Build strong relationships with key advertisers, community partners, and business leaders while positioning the stations as trusted providers of integrated marketing solutions.
• Collaborate across programming, promotions, digital, finance, and operations to align priorities and ensure effective execution.
• Make sound business decisions, allocate resources thoughtfully, and develop actionable plans that support both immediate priorities and long-term growth.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and consistent execution while recognizing strong individual and team performance.
• Take ownership of the market’s overall efforts and outcomes and serve as a visible representative of the stations throughout the community.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of broadcast radio, media, or advertising sales & operational management required.
• Bachelor's degree in business management, radio, or related field highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license required. Driving is an essential function of this position because regular travel is required to perform key job duties, including traveling to client meetings, community events, business functions, and other company-related activities throughout the market.
• Experience preparing annual budgets, monthly profit and loss statements (P&Ls), and sales forecasting reports.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering integrated, idea-based advertising solutions across on‑air, on‑site, and digital platforms.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of lead generation, customer relationship management (CRM), and account and business development.
• Strong goal orientation and ability to coach and lead the sales team.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
