Smart Care Solutions is seeking an experienced corporate attorney in Austin, TX to lead HR, contracts, and compliance matters. You will partner with business leaders on commercial terms, manage licenses, and support acquisition activity while coordinating with external counsel on complex disputes.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of employment and contract litigation experience, strong legal writing, and excellent advocacy in federal and state courts.

Responsibilities:General corporate duties and compliance activities, including all:HR matters including personnel issues, employee contracts, and all compliance activities to include conflicts of interest, ethics, and other LMS training, PII protections, and 401K fiduciary requirements.Risk Management activities including collaborating with insurance company legal teams to minimize claims settlementsCommercial contract negotiations with end user customers and with business leaders on matters to include customer contract terms, project claims and delinquencies, lien matters, utilizing AI Legal toolsMaintain all business licenses on behalf of the organizationSupport acquisition-related activity including purchase agreements and protectionsSupport corporate legal needs and control costs of outside attorneys, to include: including IP data software licenses, facility leases, business licenses, and class action lawsuitsProvide support for delinquent AR to avoid bad debts or agency charges through early interventionMaintain surety relationship and monitor outstanding bondsParticipate in any and all disputes with vendorsParticipate in union activities and wage mattersConduct compliance auditsCentralized approach to company-wide contract landscape and digital filingDevelop company SOPs for all areas as appropriateCommercial contract negotiations with end-user customersEstablish process COI (Certificates of Insurance) management of vendors/contractors and development of centralized repositoryQualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school10+ years of employment and contract litigation experience.Significant responsibility in complex federal and state court cases, including strategy, major motion practice, and depositions.Experience working with service and manufacturing industries; substantial employment law background is a plus.Excellent legal writing and research skills, with a track record of high-quality briefs and motion work.Strong courtroom presence, oral advocacy skills, and comfort arguing motions.Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a team-oriented, trial-focused environment.High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously.Proficiency with litigation technology and tools necessary for efficient in-office and remote work.About Smart CareSmart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
