Job summary

Townsend Search Group is conducting a confidential search for an experienced M&A banker to join its Michigan-based platform. The role is suitable for a current Vice President or an experienced Associate ready for increased responsibility, with significant sell-side and buy-side execution experience.

The VP/Senior Associate will lead deal execution, manage multiple workstreams, and interact with clients, buyers, investors and advisors in a lean-team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant investment banking or M&A advisory experience.
• Current VP or senior Associate capable of taking increased process and client responsibility.
• Meaningful sell-side M&A execution experience.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation and transaction-analysis skills.
• Experience developing and reviewing CIMs, management presentations and transaction-related financial analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A engagements.
• Manage transaction processes from initial preparation through closing.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, buyers, investors and third-party advisors.
• Lead development and review of financial models, valuation analyses, marketing materials and management presentations.
• Coordinate financial, commercial, tax and other third-party diligence workstreams.
• Manage buyer outreach, process timelines, management meetings and confirmatory diligence.
• Lead and develop Analysts and Associates while remaining hands-on with execution.
• Work closely with senior bankers on transaction strategy, positioning and negotiations.
• Participate in business development and relationship-building with corporate executives, business owners and financial sponsors.

Townsend Search Group is working on a confidential search for an experienced M&A professional to join an established middle-market investment banking platform in Michigan.

The opportunity is appropriate for a current Vice President or experienced Associate ready for increased responsibility. The team has significant transaction activity across founder-owned, private equity-backed and corporate clients spanning a range of end markets.

The group operates with lean deal teams and provides senior Associates and Vice Presidents with meaningful responsibility across transaction execution, junior-team development and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Experience developing and reviewing CIMs, management presentations and transaction-related financial analyses
• Demonstrated ability to manage junior bankers and multiple workstreams on live transactions
• Strong communication skills and comfort interacting directly with senior executives and investors
• High attention to detail and willingness to remain hands-on in a lean-team environment
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree welcomed but not required
