Position Summary

The Vice President of Information Technology leads the organization’s IT and information security functions. This role ensures that clinical, administrative, and business systems are secure, reliable, compliant, and aligned with company objectives. The VP, IT drives technology strategy, oversees IT operations, and serves as the executive owner of information security, privacy, and technology risk management. The position is also responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance business performance through optimized systems, AI‑driven improvements, and cost‑effective technology investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain an IT organizational structure that supports business needs.
  • Establish departmental goals, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Define and communicate standards for acquiring, implementing, and maintaining IT systems.
  • Partner with executive leadership on technology strategy, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead a high‑performing IT and security team suited for a mid‑market environment.
  • Direct information security governance and risk management activities.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise security policies and integrate security across all technology operations.
  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes.
  • Oversee IT strategic planning, innovation, prioritization, and system deployment.
  • Identify cost‑effective technology investments and manage IT operating and capital budgets.
  • Develop business cases and cost/benefit analyses for technology initiatives.
  • Direct disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to IT organization and processes.
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation to define requirements for new technologies.
  • Prioritize and manage the project portfolio for major information systems.
  • Review technology contracts and pursue master agreements to optimize scale.
  • Ensure continuous IT service delivery and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay current on IT industry trends and advise leadership on strategic and financial impacts.
  • Provide security guidance for business initiatives, application development, and IT operations.
  • Oversee information security risk management activities, including but not limited to:
    • Defining the company's information security risk posture by leading information security governance, developing and maintaining enterprise security policies, incorporating information security in all facets of information technology, overseeing information security risk management activities, and influencing user behavior to meet the organization's information security needs.
Required Skills / Preferred Skills

Relevant Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of senior IT leadership experience in a global, multi‑business organization.
  • Experience managing IT operations in a mid‑sized, complex organization, ideally in healthcare or medical devices.
  • Strong leadership, influence, and negotiation capabilities in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive collaboration, build consensus, and lead complex change.
  • Proven track record of attracting and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Direct experience with information security and privacy in regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, dental IT systems, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.
Education (Required/Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Travel
  • Expected 5% or less of travel time; Domestic/International.

Salary Range: $220,000 - $240,000 USD, based on qualifications and experience.
