United Weld Holdings has an exciting opportunity available for a VP of Information Technology to be an integral part of our IT team at our corporate location in Baton Rouge, LA. UWH takes pride in our quality of work and has a goal of building our workforce with the most talented employees.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Lead the Organization's overall technology strategy, implementation, and management. Align technology initiatives with business goals to drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure the security and reliability of IT infrastructure.

The VP of Information Technology provides leadership to the IT team, oversees technology investments, and vendor relationships, and partners with business leaders to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology solutions across all company locations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Strategy, Vision and Leadership

• Advise executive management on information technology matters.
• Support the achievement of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives by ensuring IT systems and infrastructure meet the evolving needs of the business.
• Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping stakeholders informed of all critical issues.
• Represent the organization externally, as necessary.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding technology investments, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
• Communicate significant IT initiatives, risks, and operational issues to appropriate stakeholders.

Team Development/Leadership

• Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the information technology teams.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the IT department.
• Build and lead a high-performing IT team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures to ensure effective IT service delivery.
• Evaluate staffing needs, organizational structure, and resource allocation to support current operations and future growth.

Key Information Technology Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the company's short-term and long-term goals.
• Identify emerging technologies and trends relevant to our industry and leverage them to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard our data assets and protect against cybersecurity threats.
• Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Oversee the reliability, maintenance, security and performance of the company’s technology infrastructure, networks, and systems.
• Oversee cyber security initiatives, risk assessments, incident response planning, and data protection measures.
• Oversee the implementation, integration, and ongoing support of enterprise technology systems and applications.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize operational disruptions.
• Oversee technology projects, system implementations, and infrastructure upgrades to ensure timely and successful execution.
• Ensure consistent, reliable IT services and support across all company locations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• Master’s Degree: Preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education, technical certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, including at least 5 years in IT management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading IT teams.
• Experience supporting multiple business locations, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience developing and executing IT strategies, managing departmental budgets, and overseeing third-party technology vendors.

Computer Skills

• Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, network administration, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity practices.
• Working knowledge of enterprise applications, systems integration, data management, and IT service management.
• Proficiency in evaluating technology solutions and translating technical information into business recommendations.

Certifications & Licenses

• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL are preferred.
