Job Description

Summary: The Vice President, Finance is the senior finance leader for EECOE, serving as a strategic business partner to the EECOE President and leadership team and a key member of MCG’s Finance organization. This operationally focused role owns commercial finance, financial planning and performance and collaborates with key business unit and functional stakeholders to drive operational improvement and strategic decision making leading a multi-site finance team. The VP, Finance turns financial data into clear insight that drives profitable growth, protects margin, and supports MCG’s continued expansion, including the integration of acquired businesses.

Accountabilities:

  • Commercial Finance: Support EECOE’s go-to-market team and drive a best-in‑class sales bid/quote analysis process (deal structuring, risk and profitability assessment and bookings implementation governance). Oversee EECOE’s procurement activities to drive good governance, competitive pricing and efficient vendor contracting, leveraging MCG’s companywide scale.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long‑range plan for EECOE in partnership with Corporate FP&A. Translate operating drivers such as bookings, backlog, throughput, labor, and material costs into clear financial outcomes and actionable insight.
  • Financial Reporting & Close: Support the corporate controllership organization in the monthly and quarterly close for EECOE. Deliver management reporting packages with meaningful variance analysis and commentary for EECOE and corporate leadership.
  • Project & Contract Accounting: Drive strong program reviews and diligent, disciplined execution of project‑based contracts under ASC 606, including overtime recognition, WIP, estimates at completion, and change orders. Partner with Operations and Project Management on regular job cost reviews to protect margin and identify fade early.
  • Business Partnership & Decision Support: Serve as the primary financial advisor to the EECOE President and leadership team on strategy, pricing, and resource allocation. Lead bid and quote margin reviews, capital expenditure business cases, capacity investments, and return‑on‑investment analysis.
  • Performance Excellence: Drives insights and decision making to deliver efficient business performance (profitable growth, margin expansion, strong FCF and IRR accretive capital deployment)
  • Working Capital & Cash Management: Drive disciplined management of billings, milestone and progress billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory. Own cash forecasting for EECOE and lead initiatives that improve DSO, inventory turns, and cash conversion.
  • Internal Controls & Audit Readiness: Design, maintain, and continuously strengthen a robust internal control environment across EECOE financial processes. Serve as the EECOE point of contact for external auditors and corporate accounting, ensuring timely, well‑documented support.
  • Systems, Process & Reporting: Champion improvements to ERP, reporting, and planning tools that increase accuracy, speed, and visibility. Establish KPIs and dashboards that give EECOE leaders real‑time insight into financial and operational performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing finance team of controllers, analysts, and accounting professionals across EECOE sites. Build bench strength and scalable processes that support the business’s continued growth.

Attributes

  • Have Humanity: You lead your finance team with empathy and respect, recognizing that the people behind the numbers matter as much as the numbers themselves. You take time to understand the pressures operations leaders face and partner with them as a trusted ally rather than a scorekeeper.
  • Be Transparent: You tell the full financial story — good, bad, and uncertain — so leaders can make decisions with clear eyes. You surface risks early, explain your assumptions plainly, and never let a surprise reach leadership that you could have flagged sooner.
  • Drive Innovation: You challenge legacy processes and look for smarter ways to close faster, forecast more accurately, and give the business real‑time insight. You embrace automation and new tools that free your team from manual work so they can focus on analysis that moves EECOE forward.
  • Be Resilient: You stay steady through tight close deadlines, shifting forecasts, and the complexity of a fast‑growing, acquisitive company. When results miss the mark, you dig into root causes, adjust course, and keep your team focused on what comes next.
  • Always Reliable: You deliver accurate, on‑time financials that leadership, auditors, and corporate partners can trust without a second look. You follow through on every commitment and build disciplines and controls that hold up month after month.
  • Grit: You roll up your sleeves to work through complex project accounting, messy data, and integration challenges until you get to the right answer. You hold yourself and your team to a high standard and push through obstacles with determination when the stakes are high.
