Job summary

CRH Americas Materials Inc. invites a seasoned executive to lead corporate development and the M&A function in North America from its Atlanta base.

You will partner with senior leaders on acquisitions, divestitures, capex investments and growth initiatives, directing market analysis, due diligence, valuation and integration. You will interface with AMAT leadership up to the CEO, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and develop pipeline for acquisition targets while ensuring alignment with capital

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or private equity is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end acquisition process including market analysis, due diligence, valuation, contract negotiation, integration and post-closing issue resolution.
  • Build rapport with internal leaders and external advisors to execute AMAT growth plans.
  • Manage acquisition targets and major capex project pipelines; provide financial analysis and recommendations to executives.
  • Regularly interface with AMAT leadership up to the CEO, aligning with capital allocation decisions and strategy.
  • Coordinate with other M&A professionals to ensure cohesive strategy and processes.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Corporate Development will serve as a key member of the M&A function for CRH Americas Materials (AMAT). In this capacity, the Vice President will partner with the Senior Vice President of Development, Division Presidents and other members of the senior leadership team across AMAT on acquisitions, divestitures, growth capex investments and various other growth initiatives. Work location is Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end acquisition process including market analysis and idea generation, strategic fit, due diligence, valuation, contract negotiation, integration and post-closing issue resolution.
  • Build rapport and partnership with key leaders internally (operating company leaders and functional leaders) and externally (consultants, investment bankers and other advisors) to execute on AMAT growth plans.
  • Leverage relationships to manage and build pipeline of acquisition targets and major capex projects.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis in support of acquisition and capex opportunities, providing clear explanations and well-founded recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Regularly interface with AMAT leadership up through the CEO, acting as a strategic thought partner.
  • Partner with the other M&A professionals across AMAT to coordinate and align on capital allocation decisions, M&A strategy and processes.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA highly preferred
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or private equity is highly preferred
Work Requirements
  • Travel approximately 30% with brief periods to 75%

  • Strong leadership skills with particular strengths in the areas of financial modeling, assessing business risk and displaying the ingenuity and perseverance to successfully navigate and complete complicated acquisitions

Physical Requirements

Work Environment
  • The team is typically in the office 4-5 days a week, depending on the business needs.
