Status: Full Time

FLSA: Exempt

Location: Remote, with strong preference for candidates based in New York, NY; Washington, DC; San Francisco/Bay Area; or Los Angeles, CA

JOB SUMMARY & KEY PRIORITIES

The Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Relations will guide the vision and strategic direction for Active Minds’ corporate and foundation segments of support, including through management of team members focused on each portfolio respectively. This position will be a vibrant and engaging face of the organization, able to interact with and engage CEOs, marketing professionals, corporate volunteers, and more. The Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Relations works in close collaboration with and reports to Active Minds’ Chief Development Officer (CDO) in addition to collaborating with senior Marketing, Program, and Development team leaders and other staff to express the Active Minds brand.

KEY RESULTS
  • Responsible for securing or supporting solicitations resulting in $6,000,000 in annual revenue, with modest growth year over year, across the corporate and foundation revenue segments.
  • Cultivate, renew, upgrade, and steward a portfolio of corporate partners and institutional foundations ranging $100,000 - $1,000,000+ with the support of a Manager, Corporate & Strategic Partnerships.
  • Serve as a close partner to the Chief Development Officer and Executive Director in advancing six- and seven-figure corporate and foundation relationships.
  • Represent Active Minds at industry and target events to expand our network of interested philanthropic partners.
  • Conceive, write, and edit fundraising proposals and other written materials to support Corporate and Foundation segment goals; foster cross-departmental coordination and collaboration to enable efficient, effective and fundable grant and project proposals.
  • Conduct and organize funder site visits and virtual conversations in conjunction with Leadership Team members.
  • Accountable for a rapidly growing corporate partnerships revenue stream, including through supervision and development of the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships & Engagement.
  • Accountable for the vision, strategic direction, and overall growth of foundation-sourced revenue, including through the supervision and development of the Grants Manager.
  • Serve as a part of the Development department leadership team (3 segment leaders + CDO), identifying resource needs and coordinating across the organizational Leadership Team to fulfill them.
Additional Responsibilities (20%)
  • Represent Active Minds at industry and target events to expand our network of interested philanthropic partners.
  • Work with the CDO and other Development leaders to Integrate Active Minds’ commitment to equity and inclusion into the day-to-day work of the Development team, including through continued personal growth and knowledge gaining.
  • Serve on the Active Minds Leadership team, including fully participating in bi-weekly cross-departmental coordination meetings and recommend and implement policy and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the wider team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
  • Passion for engaging and collaborative partner engagement and stewardship with entities committing to changing the culture around mental health for young adults nationwide.
  • Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information and provide well-constructed written correspondence, reports and documentation.
  • Exemplary relationship building and customer service skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, organize time effectively, and respond to changing deadlines; must have ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time.
  • Strong engagement in - and proof of - guiding strategic priorities and impact, change management, strategy development and ownership, budget creation, process optimization, and cross functional leadership/support.
You need to have:

COMPENSATION

This position offers an initial salary range of $130,200- $162,750, along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 7 salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $195,300 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt.
