VP – Consumer and Real Estate Operations

LOCATION: Corporate DIVISION: CMXO

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:

The VP, Consumer and Real Estate Operations, will lead the Consumer and Real Estate Processing and Servicing Operations Departments by overseeing process analysis, identifying best practices, process design, and implementation planning. Consumer and Real Estate Processing includes loan processing, underwriting and funding and Consumer and Real Estate Servicing includes leasing, titles, reporting, loan maintenance, escrow management and investor reporting/custodial accounting and insurance claims. This position will work in collaboration with other departments and partners.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: CMXO

Supervises: Consumer and Real Estate staff

Contacts: All levels of credit union employees, internal and external auditors, and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

  1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a management role.
  2. 8 years’ experience required working in a financial services lending capacity and real estate environment, preferably Mortgage Loan Servicing specific to loan administration activities (real estate taxes, property insurance, escrow analysis, and mortgage insurance) and Consumer Loan Processing and Servicing specific to loan administration activities (leasing, titles, maintenance and reporting).
  3. Knowledge of consumer and real estate lending with an understanding of Bellco’s servicing guidelines, general knowledge of loan operating systems, strong working knowledge of DNA.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred

  3. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while still being detailed and results oriented.
  4. Demonstrates strong analytical/problem solving and time-management skills.
  5. Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Consumer and real estate origination and servicing systems.
  6. Knowledge of Bellco’s front-line systems.
  7. Ability to manage and motivate employees and encourage group participation as well as individual growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrates Bellco’s Act Nice Behaviors and Core Values in all interactions with members, prospective members, and personnel in other Bellco departments while holding staff accountable to standards.
  2. Monitors activities and production goals associated with Consumer Loan and Real Estate - Processing and Servicing. Monitoring includes Real Estate Taxes, Property Insurance, and Insurance Claims vendors, including the day-to-day relationships, setting and defining of priorities, and establishing and monitoring service delivery, productivity, and quality standards.
  3. Responsible for accuracy and completion of activities associated with the processing of all real estate servicing functions related to Escrow from loan acquisition through life-of-loan servicing, including servicing transfers including escrow analysis.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory, and Agency requirements including but not limited to RESPA, Homeowner’s Protections Act of 1998, SCRA, Fair Credit Legislation, HMDA, and CFPB.
  5. Ensure accuracy and completion of activities associated with the processing of all consumer loan functions to include auto leases, underwriting, title work, sales tax, etc.
  6. Oversight into team’s productivity and results to maintain and meet established team & department SLAs as well as prepare recurring and special reports of lending information to various departments within the credit union.
  7. Contribute to compliance, auditing, and other organization-wide initiatives while overseeing risk management through quality control monitoring, reporting, and effective self-testing.
  8. Monitor team and provide support ensuring timely completion of daily assignments and reporting. Work with internal operations areas to ensure all general ledger reconciliation items are identified and resolved.
  9. Ensure employment needs are met including onboarding, time reporting, annual performance evaluations, scheduling, training, and motivation.
  10. Ensure member satisfaction within all loan channels and points of contact with frontline and back office staff to deliver exceptional member experience.
  11. Report vendor performance and service standards to Executive management team as necessary.
  12. Conduct annual and periodic vendor due diligence reviews.
  13. May lead/serve/consult on cross functional project teams.
  14. Contribute to strategies and planning related to establishing scalable administration capabilities and improving the effectiveness of the department functions.
  15. Regular and punctual attendance.

Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position as business need dictates.

Non-branch non-management roles may be eligible for on-the-spot bonuses for extraordinary performance.
