Job Description Summary:

The Vice President, Compliance Business Partner is a key leader on the Compliance team and serves as the main point of contact between the Compliance team and various business units, including Commercial, Purchasing, Business Development, Revenue Cycle Management, Ambulatory Infusion Centers, Naven Health, and acquired businesses. This role helps the business teams understand and adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and our compliance program. The Vice President provides strategic guidance on initiatives, oversees monitoring of regulatory changes, and focuses on preventing, detecting, and addressing fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA). This leader promotes a culture of integrity and accountability, ensuring compliance risks are proactively managed. This position reports to the SVP, Chief Compliance Officer.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a trusted advisor to business teams, providing strategic guidance on compliance matters, including regulatory and policy requirements, issue spotting, and process implementation.
  2. Propose innovative solutions to meet business objectives while maintaining ethical standards and risk management.
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare compliance, including FWA, Medicare & Medicaid billing, and healthcare professional interactions.
  4. Lead or support risk assessments of business activities, identifying compliance risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  5. Partner with business teams to integrate compliance considerations into strategic planning and new initiatives.
  6. Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to business needs.
  7. Collaborate across functions such as Operations, Legal, Clinical & Quality, HR, and Finance.
  8. Act as a liaison between Compliance and business teams, facilitating communication and promoting the Compliance brand.
  9. Support continuous improvement of the compliance program by sharing insights and leading updates.
  10. Ensure policies are integrated into programs, including oversight and approval of processes.
  11. Collaborate on healthcare professional engagement, investigations, policy updates, training, monitoring, and corrective actions.
  12. Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting healthcare compliance and advise stakeholders accordingly.
  13. Promote awareness of external regulatory guidance and drive policy updates.
  14. Identify opportunities for compliance education and deliver training.
  15. Support M&A compliance activities, including due diligence and risk mitigation.

Supervisory responsibilities: Yes.

Requirements:
  • 12+ years of healthcare or compliance experience, including leadership roles and knowledge of healthcare regulations (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with risk assessments, cross-functional collaboration, and team development.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders.
Physical and Travel Requirements:

Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods. Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-house experience in a compliance program at a publicly traded company.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $176,583.32 - $294,320.24, commensurate with experience. Benefits include 401k, health/dental/vision insurance, disability, life insurance, paid time off, and more.
