Job Description Summary

SCS is seeking a Vice President to join its Alternative Investment Services team. This individual will help lead the day-to‑day execution of a broad set of responsibilities spanning investment onboarding, fund operations, fundraising, investor communications, private investment reporting, and fair value support. The role requires a professional who can independently manage complex workflows, establish priorities, coordinate across stakeholders, and provide reliable oversight while remaining willing to execute critical details directly. The successful candidate will serve as a senior resource on the team, helping translate investment activity into accurate operational execution, high‑quality data, and clear investor communications. The position offers meaningful exposure to SCS’s alternative investment platform and the opportunity to improve processes, mentor junior team members, and help the team scale.

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Team Execution & Workflow Leadership
  • Help manage the team’s day‑to‑day operating cadence, prioritize competing deadlines, allocate work, identify risks, and ensure timely completion of recurring and ad hoc deliverables. Serve as an escalation point, provide quality control, and coach junior team members while maintaining hands‑on ownership of critical workflows.
Investment Manager Onboarding & Lifecycle Oversight
  • Lead complex manager and fund onboarding processes from investment committee approval through closing and ongoing servicing. Oversee execution of commitments, subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, side letters, and related investment documentation; ensure accurate investment setup in iLEVEL, Addepar, and internal systems; coordinate with investment teams, legal, compliance, client advisors, and operational stakeholders; and establish scalable controls for deadlines, approvals, documentation, and data integrity.
AML / KYC & Investor Due Diligence
  • Lead fund‑level AML/KYC processes and periodic refreshes, including resolution of complex beneficial ownership, tax, certification, and investor eligibility requests. Maintain strong relationships with investment managers’ fund administrators, legal counsel, compliance teams, and internal stakeholders, while helping to improve standards for documentation, tracking, escalation, and audit readiness.
Investment Data, Systems & Controls
  • Act as a senior iLEVEL resource and help oversee the integrity of commitment, capital activity, valuation, ownership, and reference data across iLEVEL, Addepar, and related platforms.
Private Investment Fundraising Coordination
  • Help manage fundraising execution for SCS‑managed private investment vehicles, including launch planning, demand tracking, CRM governance, closing coordination, and regular reporting to investment and client teams. Synthesize fundraising information for leadership, surface risks and decision points, and help coordinate communications and execution across internal and external investors.
Investor Communications
  • Assist with drafting and producing quarterly and ad hoc investor communications covering capital activity, fund developments, performance, secondary sales, and other material events. Draft and review quarterly investor letters that connect results to underlying portfolio developments and coordinate operational support and investor messaging for significant secondary sales, including transaction rationale and expected impacts to portfolios and fund performance.
Private Company Valuations
  • Help lead the fair value process for direct private company investments, including analysis of company performance, financing and transaction evidence, sponsor methodologies, market comparables, and other valuation inputs. Review valuation conclusions, draft and refine memoranda for Compliance and year‑end auditors, coordinate responses to review questions, and strengthen documentation and controls around the process.
Special Projects & Platform Development
  • Lead high‑priority initiatives involving new fund structures, secondary transactions, technology implementations, process redesign, reporting automation, data governance, and firm integrations. Develop repeatable procedures, strengthen operating controls, and help scale the Alternative Investment Services platform.
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will possess approximately 7+ years of relevant experience in alternative investment operations, private fund administration, fund‑of‑funds, investment management, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting private investment programs and working across multiple stakeholders is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
  • Hands‑on iLEVEL experience is preferred, including familiarity with investment structures, commitments, cash flows, valuations, building dashboards, and reporting data.
  • Prior experience supporting the valuation of direct private company investments is strongly preferred, including analyzing company performance and valuation inputs and preparing related documentation.
  • Working knowledge of alternative investments, including private equity, venture capital, real assets, opportunistic strategies, hedge funds, and/or direct investments.
  • Experience with investment subscription documents, investment and manager onboarding, and AML/KYC processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex workflows, review the work of others, and serve as a trusted point of coordination across investment, compliance, legal, finance, and client‑facing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the judgment to identify inconsistencies and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investment and operational topics clearly.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and commitment to client service.
  • A process‑improvement mindset and interest in using technology to strengthen controls and increase efficiency.
