The California State University (CSU) seeks a highly accomplished, innovative, and
collaborative human resources executive to serve as its next Vice Chancellor for Human
Resources & Chief Human Resources Officer (VCHR).

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer (VCHR) will serve as the chief architect and strategic leader of the CSU’s systemwide human resources enterprise, spanning 22 campuses and the Chancellor’s Office. The VCHR is a trusted advisor to the Chancellor, the board, and campus leadership, providing visionary, agile, and collaborative leadership on the full spectrum of human resources and workforce matters while serving as a catalyst for organizational effectiveness, innovation, and change.

The VCHR leads the development and execution of a cohesive, forward-looking systemwide HR strategy aligned with the CSU’s mission and strategic priorities. The VCHR provides leadership and guidance across talent acquisition and workforce planning, employee retention, learning and organizational development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and employee wellness. In doing so, the VCHR advances a culture that values talent, accountability, collaboration, innovation, consistency, equity, and employee engagement across the CSU.
