Job summary

Razorfish is seeking a freelance 3D Generalist – Product Visualization in the United States (New York) to deliver photorealistic product renders. You will clean up CAD assets, optimize geometry, and integrate products into photographic or AI backgrounds.

A strong focus on camera matching, lighting, and material realism is essential for seamless, believable composites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience creating photorealistic product renders for advertising/marketing.
• Experience importing, cleaning up and optimizing dense CAD files (Parasolid, STEP, STL).
• Proficiency in at least one major 3D app (Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max).
• Advanced lighting, shading, materials, texturing and rendering skills.

This role at Razorfish will serve as a member of Publicis Groupe's strategic internal agency, Constellation.

Constellation serves as an internal-facing brand formed by a collective of Publicis Groupe agencies to address our client's creative, data, strategy, media, and technology requirements. Team members collaborate across agencies while functioning as sub-divisions within their respective brands to provide dedicated support for the client. By acting as a unified interface, Constellation eliminates operational silos and presents a single service entity and primary point of contact for the client.

Overview

Freelance 3D Generalist – Product Visualization

We're seeking an experienced 3D Generalist with a background in photorealistic consumer product visualization and CAD workflows.

Responsibilities

You’ll work mainly with CAD assets provided by manufacturers, cleaning up and optimizing complex geometry for rendering. Then you’ll integrate those products into supplied photographic or AI-generated backgrounds.

A major part of the role is camera and lighting matching. You’ll analyze a background image and recreate its perspective, scale, lighting, reflections and shadows in 3D so the product looks like it was actually photographed in the scene.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• Proven experience creating photorealistic consumer product renders for advertising or marketing
• Experience importing, cleaning up and optimizing dense CAD files, including Parasolid (.x_t), STEP and STL
• Proficiency in at least one major 3D application, such as Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender or 3ds Max
• Advanced lighting, shading, materials, texturing and rendering skills
• Solid understanding of photography, lenses, perspective and camera matching
• Ability to create believable reflections, contact shadows and environmental interaction
• Basic compositing and image-finishing skills (Photoshop or similar)
• A sharp eye for materials, proportion and composition
• Comfortable collaborating and iterating in a creative production environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-generated imagery or generative AI workflows
• Experience with VFX integration techniques

Portfolio

Please include a portfolio showing high-end photorealistic product work. Examples of CG products integrated into photographic environments are especially valuable.

Compensation Range: USD $31.79 - USD $41.83/Hourly. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
