Job summary

VO Vets, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our cat-friendly facility. You will perform advanced medical, diagnostic, and laboratory procedures under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.

Essential duties include triaging patients, assisting during surgeries, collecting specimens, and preparing discharge instructions for clients. Our team emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide for the patient’s needs.
• Triage patients and determine if patient is stable or critical.
• Perform physical assessments and record observations in files.
• Assist veterinarian during surgical procedures; anesthesia, monitoring, recovery, post-op orders.
• Perform blood collection and determine best collection method.
• Prepare fluids therapy setup and monitor administration.
• Assist with dosage calculations and dispensing of medications.
• Monitor daily activities of in-hospital patients.
• Communicate with staff and clients regarding patient status.
• Prepare patients for discharge and educate owners on home care.
• Follow hospital policies and document accurately.
• Understand OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
