Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic in Fernandina Beach, FL is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our busy small animal hospital serving dogs, cats, and families on Amelia Island.

We welcome both full-time and part-time candidates. The technician will rotate through the hospital, support exams, diagnostics, surgery prep, anesthesia, lab work, and client education, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary experience required.
• CVT/LVT/RVT credential welcomed but not required.
• Strong clinical and patient-handling skills.
• Surgery and anesthesia experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in a busy small animal practice.
• Organized, dependable, and adaptable.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Team-oriented approach; willing to support others.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and vital signs.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Administer medications, vaccines and prescribed treatments.
• Take digital radiographs; prepare patients for surgery.
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery.
• Assist with dental procedures and dental radiographs.
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments and preventive care.
