Job summary

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking an exceptional Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our surgical team. You will prepare and restrain patients, place IV catheters, perform phlebotomy, and assist with imaging and anesthesia monitoring.

Qualified RVTs are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on. Competitive shift differentials apply for nights and weekends, and the role offers opportunities to mentor colleagues and advance in a fast-paced specialty setting.

Qualifications

• RV T certification preferred; direct surgical experience valued.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and perioperative care.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and radiography as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Safely restrain patients during procedures.
• Place intravenous catheters in peripheral veins.
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare cytology slides.
• Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia or while sedated.
• Perform advanced imaging such as CT and MRI.
• Mentor and train co-workers; address client concerns with empathy.

Pay

$24.00 - $49.00 / hour

$3,000 Sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates!

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As a Surgery Technician, you will:

• You prepare patients for surgery.
• You safely restrain patients for procedures.
• You place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
• You perform phlebotomy.
• You prepare slides for cytology.
• You proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• You monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
• You will perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
