Job description

Westbrook Animal Hospital in Burlington, NC, is looking for an experienced RVT - licensed veterinary technician or are willing to train the right newly licensed technician to add to their dedicated team. Position Requirements:

• Current NC veterinary technician license
• Able to safely restrain dogs and cats for medical procedures.
• Provides animal care by determining animal requirements.
• Monitors, adjusts, and documents anesthesia depths and patient's vitals while under anesthesia.
• Feeds and cares for animals.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Maintains records.
• Completes laboratory tests and studies and diagnostic imaging.
• Takes vital signs and collects samples.
• Administers medications, drugs, and vaccines.
• Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
• Explains animal status to owners.
• Prepares surgery table instruments.
• Completes local/regional anesthesia.
• Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
