Triangle Animal Clinic of Conroe, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is seeking an experienced part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team in Conroe, TX. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take history from client, perform physical assessments, and record observations in the medical record.
• Educate clients on preventative healthcare and provide follow up.
• Communicate patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Perform venipuncture, in-house lab tests, and prepare forms for outside labs; call owner with results.
• Provide and monitor nursing care under veterinarian direction, including medications and monitoring.
• Admit and discharge patients following protocols and educate clients on processes.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, wards and other areas.
• Dispense medications, patient food, treatment sheets, discharge instructions, labels, and related communications.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by veterinarian.

Job description

Triangle Animal Clinic of Conroe, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced part-time Veterinary Technician to join our Team!

Triangle Animal Clinic opened its doors to the community in 1973 and has been providing high-quality care ever since. We offer a wide range of services to dogs and cats that live in and around Magnolia, The Woodlands, and Montgomery County. Our team is committed to giving our patients the high-quality care they deserve.

This is a part-time position.

Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for performing basic medical, diagnostic, and laboratory procedures under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take history from client. Perform physical assessments and record observations legibly in medical record.
• Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and provide follow up.
• Communicate any patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples, perform in house laboratory tests, and prepare all forms to be sent to outside labs, call owner with results as requested by veterinarian.
• Provide and monitor all nursing care as requested by veterinarian for patients admitted to hospital, including medications (all routes) and monitoring.
• Admit and discharge patients to hospital by following all admission and discharge protocols. Educate clients on admit/discharge.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, hospital wards and other areas as requested.
• Dispense veterinarian approved medication, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage card labels, x ray and lab labels, recording communication with client and doctors, and others as directed by veterinarian.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by veterinarian.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience required, ideally some veterinary technician education.
