Job description

Premier Veterinary Group is seeking a Per Diem Veterinary Technician to assist with our upcoming summer caseload at our new facility in Mundelein, IL.

Position Details:

1. Per Diem Employee: Available to work as needed, beyond full-time staff, to ensure optimal patient care. Shifts may vary, including day, swing, overnight, weekend, and holidays. Offers flexibility and growth opportunities within patient care and emergency/specialty services.
2. Primary Responsibilities: Support veterinary staff with tasks such as record keeping, animal restraint, administering medications, stocking supplies, and maintaining a safe, clean workspace. Provide excellent patient and client service, with sensitivity to the bond between owners and pets.
3. Qualifications:

• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement in canine and feline patients.
• Knowledge of disease processes, medical math, anesthesia, and pharmacology.
• Commitment to at least 2-3 shifts per month.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation: Dependent on experience; shift differentials available for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a general or specialty practice.

Note: Per Diem employees are not eligible for benefits.
