Job summary

Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (DVSC) in North Dallas is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician focused on patient care and surgical support. You will work closely with surgeons and the specialty team to monitor, manage pain, and care for hospitalized pets.

This full-time role requires a licensed or experienced technician, a caring bedside manner, and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs. Shifts include 7:00am–5:00pm, 4x10s, with weekends required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with clinic experience.
• Strong client service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, catheter placement, and radiology safety.

Responsibilities

• IV catheter placement, blood drawing, and IV fluid maintenance

Compensation:

• $20 - $23/hr. based on experience and credentials

Job Description:

The Patient Care Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support to surgical and hospitalized patients. This role works closely with surgeons and the specialty team to ensure patients receive attentive monitoring, pain management, and compassionate care throughout recovery and hospitalization.

Responsibilities:

• IV catheter placement, blood drawing, and IV fluid maintenance

• Radiographs, surgical prep, and induction assistance
• Daily upkeep of the patient care ward and accurate patient documentation
• Compassionate client communication and patient-focused care

Qualifications:

• You are a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
• You are dedicated to maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that same value.

• You are versatile – you know how to effectively adapt to the individual needs of each patient and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
• You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):
  • Safe patient restraint
  • Excellent client service
  • Phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique
  • Proficient in post-op monitoring and care of surgical patients
  • Solid foundation of knowledge of common veterinary medications
  • Individualized, patient-focused nursing
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
