Androscoggin Animal Hospital | Topsham, Maine
Pay range $22-24/hr DoE
If you’re the kind of person who can place a catheter, keep a nervous patient calm, anticipate what the doctor needs next, and still find your sense of humor on a busy day, we should talk.
Androscoggin Animal Hospital is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or an experienced veterinary technician to join our team. We’re looking for someone who knows their way around a treatment room, takes pride in their skills, and wants to work somewhere that values what technicians bring to the table. If you’re credentialed, we’d love to put that expertise to work. If you’ve built your skills through hands‑on experience, we want to hear from you, too.
We’re a busy AAHA accredited small animal hospital in Topsham, Maine, providing high‑quality care for cats, dogs, and a variety of exotic pets. Yes, that includes the occasional chinchilla, lizard, or rabbit with a bigger personality than some people we know.
We believe excellent medicine starts with a strong team. Our doctors and support staff work collaboratively, our team includes plenty of long‑tenured people, and we make room for learning, sharing knowledge, and doing things right. We use Fear Free techniques to help patients feel more comfortable, and we take the quality of our medicine just as seriously as the way we treat each other.
You’ll be an active part of patient care, working alongside our doctors and fellow technicians to keep appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures running smoothly. You’ll use your technical skills, help patients feel safe and comfortable, communicate with clients, and support your teammates throughout the day.
Depending on your experience and interests, there’s room to put your existing skills to good use while continuing to build new ones. Our caseload includes routine and complex medical needs, and our exotic patients offer a little variety for anyone who enjoys expanding your veterinary knowledge beyond cats and dogs.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking initiative, can stay organized when the day gets busy, and understands that great patient care depends on teamwork. You don’t have to know everything, but you should be confident in what you know, willing to ask questions, and interested in continuing to grow.
We want skilled technicians to feel like skilled technicians, not an extra set of hands waiting for the next task. We value your knowledge, respect your contributions, and want you involved in providing excellent patient care. Our collaborative culture means you can learn from experienced colleagues, share your own expertise, and have people in your corner when you need them.
We also believe work should leave room for a life outside of it. Our team shares weekend responsibilities, and we strive to create a workplace where people can build lasting careers without losing sight of everything else that matters.
Along with a supportive team and opportunities to keep developing your skills, our benefits include:
An LVT who wants to practice at the top of their skill set, or an experienced veterinary technician ready to bring their knowledge and initiative to a collaborative hospital. Someone who cares about their patients, takes pride in their work, and appreciates a team that can handle a challenging day without taking itself too seriously.
If that sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to meet you.
