Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in Clifton, NJ is seeking a Relief (as-needed) Veterinary Technician to support our oncology-focused team. You will provide skilled technical support for radiation and medical oncology procedures, monitor patients during treatment, and perform laboratory testing.

You’ll coordinate admissions and discharges and assist doctors with anesthesia and client communication. Thrive offers growth through ThriveU, live workshops, and a program to build hospital management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care).
• CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred.
• Oncology/ Radiation Oncology experience preferred but not required.
• Strong anesthesia skills and ability to monitor patients during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled technical support for radiation and medical oncology procedures.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment and perform laboratory testing.

• Assist doctors in early intervention by integrating clinical signs with disease processes.

PetCure Oncology is looking for a Relief (as-needed) Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Clifton, NJ.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing advanced cancer treatment. Your meaningful work will range from providing skilled technical support for radiation oncology and medical oncology procedures, monitoring patients throughout treatment, and performing laboratory testing, to coordinating essential patient care services including admissions, discharges, and client support.

Your Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)
• CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred
• Veterinary Chemotherapy/Radiation Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)
• Possesses a positive work attitude
• Self-motivated
• Excellent communication and organization skills

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting rate of $33 / hour. The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
