Highlands Veterinary Hospital in Sparta, NJ is hiring a full-time or part-time Certified Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care and exceptional service. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of veterinary experience, can handle animals safely, and communicates well with clients about care instructions and status updates.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $22 - $25 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. $1,500 Sign On Bonus!

Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions available.

• Part-Time (22.5–29 hrs/week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday
• Full-Time (35–40 hrs/week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

Shift times are as follows:

• Friday: 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs individually and over 50 lbs with a team lift. Must be able to squat, bend, sit, and stand when needed and possibly for long periods of time.
