Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center is seeking an Emergency Department Manager to lead our 24/7 emergency team in Largo, FL. The role focuses on hands-on patient care, staff development, and efficient patient flow to support veterinarians and clients.

As part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, you’ll contribute to a hospital culture with community roots and access to national resources, ensuring high-quality care for pets day and night.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of emergency experience required.
• 1-2 years of leadership experience required.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of emergency technicians.
• Develop and mentor technicians in emergency medicine skills and patient care.
• Manage a working schedule to meet the needs of a 24/7 facility.
• Mange workflow from triage to hospitalization.
• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow in an emergency setting.
• Assist with and facilitate emergency surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients regarding patient care and status.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.

Your Experience & Skills

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred
• 3-4 years of emergency experience required
• 1-2 years of leadership experience required

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with salary starting at $65,000
