Veterinary Technician - Lead

About You

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will include hands-on care, outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.

Schedule

Includes appointments, surgeries, and technician visits. 40 hours per week, with 4-10 hour shifts.

Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Veterinary technician licensure required
  • 3-5 years of CVT experience
  • Management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience
Role Responsibilities
  • Train, coach, and supervise technicians and assistants
  • Lead Technician meetings
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Veterinary Practice Act
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options
  • Maintain medical records and charts
  • Use safe restraining techniques and uphold cleanliness and organization
  • Mentor and support team members
