Job summary

Case Western Reserve University’s Animal Resource Center seeks a Veterinary Technician 1 to support ARC veterinarians, researchers and staff in animal health and technical services. Duties include assisting with surgical procedures, anesthesia, nursing care, and maintaining aseptic suites, records and inventory.

The role requires compliance with applicable laws and AAALAC guidelines, plus interaction with investigators to ensure proper veterinary care of research animals.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of veterinary technician experience, preferably in a lab animal environment.
• Associate degree in Animal Health and current ALAT/LAT or eligible for LATG certification.
• Ohio driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily rounds and assist veterinarians with animal health and treatment.
• Review sick animal observations and document follow-up actions.
• Assist with surgical procedures and anesthesia induction/monitoring.
